Our opticians answer during opening hours.
Are my glasses ready?
We let you know by SMS or WhatsApp as soon as your glasses are ready. To check on your order before then, contact the store where you placed it, giving your name.
How long does it take to make my glasses?
Usually between 4 and 10 days, depending on the lenses chosen (progressive or special lenses take a little longer). Your optician will give you a precise lead time when you order and will let you know as soon as your glasses are ready.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank cards, cheques and bank transfers. You can also pay in 3 or 4 interest-free instalments (no more than 4). And thanks to direct billing (tiers payant), you usually only pay the part left to your charge.
Do you offer home visits?
No, we do not make home visits. Our opticians welcome you in our 4 stores, each with free parking in front.
Which stores offer hearing aids?
Hearing care (hearing test, trial and fitting of hearing aids) is available at our Champigny-sur-Marne, Bonneuil-sur-Marne and Tournan-en-Brie stores. The Bailly-Romainvilliers store does not offer this service.

Do I need a prescription to buy glasses?
A prescription is not required to buy glasses, but it is required to be reimbursed by the French national health insurance and most complementary insurers. If you have a prescription that is still valid, we can also renew your glasses directly in store.
How long is my prescription valid?
For glasses, a prescription is valid:
- 1 year under 16,
- 5 years from 16 to 42,
- 3 years from 43.
For contact lenses, it is valid 1 year under 16 and 3 years above. Bring it to the store and we will check it together.
Can you do an eye exam?
Yes. If you have a valid prescription, our opticians can check your vision and adjust the correction of your glasses, unless your doctor has ruled this out on the prescription. The exam takes about 15 minutes. Without a valid prescription, you will need to see an ophthalmologist or an orthoptist.
My prescription has expired, what should I do?
Book an appointment in one of our stores: we will assess your vision and point you to the best way to get a new prescription. You can also choose your frame and prepare your quote at the same time.
Do you offer "100 % Santé" glasses?
Yes, we offer more than 150 "100 % Santé" frames (class A) with 100 % Santé lenses, with no out-of-pocket cost if you have a "responsible" complementary insurance contract, which is the case for the vast majority of contracts. Our opticians always present a 100 % Santé quote.
Can I choose a branded frame with 100 % Santé lenses?
Yes: you can combine a non-100 % Santé frame with 100 % Santé lenses, or the reverse. Only the non-100 % Santé part may then leave an out-of-pocket cost, depending on your insurance.
Which frame brands do you carry?
Independent since 2009, we are multi-brand: designer, branded and luxury frames, chosen freely. Collections differ from one store to another; feel free to call your store to check a specific model.
Do you make progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive lenses correct far, intermediate and near vision in a single lens. We work with two French lens makers: Essilor, inventor of the first Varilux progressive lens, and Ophtalmic, a Paris-region laboratory with the "Origine France Garantie" label. Our opticians take precise measurements in store, and all our lenses come with an adaptation guarantee.
Do you make prescription sunglasses?
Yes, we make sunglasses with your correction, as well as photochromic lenses that darken in the sun. Your second pair can also be prescription sunglasses, free (see the conditions of the second-pair offer).
Do you have a second-pair offer?
Yes: when you buy your glasses, a second pair is offered, optical or prescription sunglasses, at no extra cost. The offer does not apply when the first pair is 100 % Santé, and special conditions apply to strong corrections: your optician will explain them in store.
Do you sell contact lenses?
Yes, we supply contact lenses and their care products on presentation of a valid contact-lens prescription. In-stock lenses are available within 24 to 48 hours, others within about 10 days. For a first fitting, book an appointment so the optician can check comfort and fit.
Do you make glasses for children?
Yes, we have frames designed for children, sturdy and comfortable, including 100 % Santé models. For under-16s, renewal is covered every year.
My glasses are broken or loose, can you repair them?
Drop by the store: we carry out adjustments, tightening and small repairs on the spot. Your frames are guaranteed for 2 years, and your lens coatings are guaranteed for 2 years against defects. The optician will tell you the right solution and the lead time if a part needs to be ordered.
My new glasses don't suit me, what should I do?
A few days of adaptation are normal, especially with progressive lenses. If the discomfort persists, come back with your glasses and your prescription: all our lenses come with an adaptation guarantee, and we will check the measurements and the correction.
What can I do with my old glasses?
Bring them to any of our stores: we pass your old glasses on to a charity that gives them a second life.
Insurance and reimbursement 9
Do you offer direct billing (tiers payant)?
Yes, direct billing is standard at Optical Santé with the French national health insurance and most complementary insurers: you only pay the part left to your charge. Remember to bring your carte Vitale (or certificate) and your complementary insurance card.
Which documents should I bring?
Please bring:
- your prescription,
- your carte Vitale or proof of entitlement,
- your complementary insurance card (in date).
If you have your old glasses, bring them too.
Do you work with my insurance?
We partner with most complementary insurers and always offer direct billing. Tell me the name of your insurer, or contact your store for a quick check.
Can you give me a quote for my insurer?
Yes. In store, we prepare your quote and run a simulation with your insurer: you know your out-of-pocket cost before confirming the order.
How often am I reimbursed for glasses?
Coverage is normally possible:
- every 2 years from age 16,
- every year between 6 and 16,
- more often under 6.
This period can be shortened if your vision has changed. Your insurer may also have its own rules: we can check your entitlements.
How much will I pay?
With the 100 % Santé offer, you may have no out-of-pocket cost at all. For other equipment, the price depends on the frame, the lenses and your insurance. The best thing is to visit the store: we calculate your exact out-of-pocket cost from your insurer's coverage.
I have no complementary insurance, am I reimbursed?
Without complementary insurance, the national health insurance reimburses only a very small part of glasses, except in particular situations such as the Complémentaire santé solidaire (C2S), which gives access to 100 % Santé glasses at no cost. Our opticians will suggest solutions suited to your budget.
I have the Complémentaire santé solidaire (C2S), how does it work?
With the C2S, you get 100 % Santé glasses with no advance payment and no out-of-pocket cost. Bring your prescription, your carte Vitale and your C2S certificate.
My coverage was refused or my insurer did not pay, what should I do?
This can happen if your entitlements are not up to date or if the renewal period has not been reached. Contact your store with your up-to-date insurance card: we will check the file and resubmit the request if necessary.
