A 15-minute vision check

If you have a valid prescription, the optician can check your vision and adjust the correction of your glasses, unless your doctor has ruled it out on the prescription. The exam takes about 15 minutes in a dedicated area of the store. We recommend booking online on our website (instant confirmation), but walk-ins are welcome subject to availability.

Prescriptions: what you need to know

A prescription is not required to buy glasses in France, but it is required to be reimbursed by the national health insurance and most complementary insurers. For glasses it is valid 1 year under 16, 5 years from 16 to 42 and 3 years from 43. For contact lenses, 1 year under 16 and 3 years above. Bring it to the store: we check its validity together.

No valid prescription?

If your prescription has expired or you never had one, you will need to see an ophthalmologist or an orthoptist. Book an appointment in one of our stores: we assess your vision, point you to the best way to get a new prescription, and you can choose your frame and prepare your quote at the same time.

Warning signs

Sudden loss of vision, pain, redness, double vision or flashes of light are not matters for an optician. See a doctor or an ophthalmologist without delay, and call 15 (French emergency number) in an emergency.
